SENIOR MOMENT UPDATE

Calling all Volunteers!!! – The Fond du Lac County Senior Dining program is in need of volunteers. We serve 9 mealsites throughout Fond du Lac County Monday through Friday. Hours would be between 10:30 and 1:00 with a free meal and leftovers on the day you volunteer. For more information please call 929-3114 or Julie at 929-3521.


Open Enrollment – You still have until December 31, 2010 to make a once time change of your Medicare Part D drug plan. After Jan. 1, 2011 if you don’t make a chance what you had in 2010 will continue for the next year. Also, if you never had a prescription drug plan now is the time to enroll. Please call Julie at 929-3521 to schedule your appointment.

Wisconsin SeniorCare – The Wisconsin SeniorCare program is still going strong in Wisconsin. If you are on this program you do not need to have a Medicare Part D plan. To qualify for the program you need to be 65 and live in the State of Wisconsin. This program is based on income to determine what level you qualify for and whether or not you have a deductible to meet before the program kicks in. For more information and a application please contact Julie at 929-3521.
Medicare Part D News - Health Net: Effective immediately, ALL Health Net plans are under a sanction. In WI, this means that 2 PDP plans are affected: Health Net Orange Option 1 and Health Net Orange Option 2. A plan under sanction cannot market its plans to new members, nor can it enroll new members. It can, however, retain current members.

$2,047 a month or $24,568 per year for individuals
$2,677 a month or $32,127 per year for couples
*Crisis funding – if get grant but doesn’t cover costs they can still get additional funding

Medicare A & B Deductibles and Premiums

Part B Premium in 2011 - $115.40 for new beneficiaries.

Part A Deductible for 2011 - $1,132.00
For each benefit period you pay:
• A total of $1,132 for a hospital stay of 1-60 days.
• $283 per day for days 61-90 of a hospital stay.
• $566 per day for days 91-150 of a hospital stay (Lifetime Reserve Days).
• All costs for each day beyond 150 days

Part B Deductible for 2011 - $162.00
