SENIOR MOMENT UPDATE

A BIG THANK YOU!!! I wanted to convey a great big thank you for the cards and warm wishes during my maternity leave. Victor Daniel Hilbert was born Aug. 5, 2010 at 7:37 a.m. He was 9 lbs. 5 oz and 20 inches long. He was a healthy, happy baby boy and both Tom and I are so blessed to have him in our lives.

Social Security Update - No cost of living increase for social security beneficiaries in 2011. This also means that the Medicare Part B premiums will not increase; it will remain the same amount as 2010.

Companies not renewing for 2011: All of the Aetna plans, DeanCare, Advantra, CIGNA Plan 3, AARP Saver Plan, CCRX Gold, CVS Caremark Complete, First Health Secure, Medco Access, Prescriba Bronze and gold plans, UA Silver plans and WPS Standard plan.

Starting in 2011, pharmaceutical manufacturers will be required to provide beneficiaries who reach the donut hole with discounted prices on brand name drugs during the donut hole, at a total savings of 50% of the costs of the drugs. The details of how these savings will be passed on to consumers will be released later this year.
