SENIOR MOMENT UPDATE



DRUG DROP 09 – Saturday May 16th to dispose of your old, expired prescription drugs in a safe, approved manner.
FDL County Fairgrounds Expo Center 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
In Ripon at the High School (850 Tiger Dr.) from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Waupun at Agnesian Pharmacy (910 W. Main St.) from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Campbellsport at Agnesian Healthcare Clinic (328 N. Helena St.) from 10:00 a.m. to noon

When I’m 65 Presentation – May 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the FDL Public Library. Please call Julie at 929-3521 to reserve your spot.

Benefit Specialist Program – It is a program designed to assist seniors who are 60 years of age or older with any and all types of problems or issues dealing with prescription drugs, Medicare, Social Security, supplemental insurance, consumer complaints, food stamp program, housing and others that act as an advocate on their behalf. We are called the “Red Tape Cutters” for this reason. Please contact Julie at 929-3521 for assistance and/or information.

Caregiver Support Program
To provide financial assistance to caretakers of individuals who are 60 years of age or older and frail to provide day care or in home care.
Qualification:
Individuals with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other irreversible dementias
Costs depends upon household income and patient expense

Today I spoke with Edwina Gateley. She will be speaking at the Pilgrim United Church of Christ on April 24(7:00-9:00), 25(9:30-11:30 and 1:00-2:30) and 26(8:00 and 10:30 service).

Homeowners in the City of FDL – The City’s Community Development Dept. has housing rehabilitation loans available for homeowners. These loans feature no interest ever and no monthly payments, they usually are repaid when you decide to move or sell your home or you can prepay at anytime without penalty. If you need roofing, siding electrical or plumbing repairs a new furnace or hot water heater. Please call 322-3440 for more information.
Income guidelines are as follows: 1 person - $36,750
2 persons - $42,000
3 persons - $47,250

Rural Development Loans & Grant Program – For seniors in the outlying rural areas Loan/Grant funds can be used for weatherizing purposes, electrical work, structural repairs, well work or other essential repairs.
Recipient must be 62 or older
Low Income Limits (check charts)
Applicants must have less than $10,000 in liquid assets
Need not repay until sell house or change title – Call 907-2976
