Notice of Public Hearing 2013-2015 Aging Plan – Fond du Lac County Department of Senior Services will conduct a public hearing on the proposed 2013-2015 Aging Plan. The hearing will be on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Westnor Apartments, 653 W. Arndt, Fond du Lac, WI. The hearing room is accessible. The proposed plan will be available for public inspection prior to the hearing at the Department of Senior Services, City-County Center, 160 S. Macy, Fond du Lac, WI. 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Anyone interested may attend.
Starting April 1st CMS will begin disenrolling beneficiaries for failure to pay Part D IRMMA (Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount) premiums. The Part D-IRMAA is an amount added to the monthly Part D premium for individuals whose modified adjusted gross income exceeds certain threshold amounts. Notices were sent to these individuals in Dec., Jan. and Feb. that if they did not pay these amounts they would be disenrolled effective April 1st. If a beneficiary has questions or needs assistance they can call Julie at 920-929-3521.
Beware of Jury Duty Scam - Beware of a scam which has so far been reported in 11 states and may be targeting Wisconsinites soon. This scam, known as the “Jury Duty Scam,” plays out as follows: The phone rings, you pick it up, and the caller identifies himself as an officer of the court. He says you failed to report for jury duty and that a warrant is out for your arrest. You say you never received a notice. To clear it up, the caller says he'll need some information for "verification purposes" – your birth date, social security number, maybe even a credit card number.
