The presentation will explain what to expect when you retire and are eligible for Medicare. It will explain supplemental vs. Medicare advantage plans and the ever complicated Part D prescription assistance. To reserve your spot please contact Julie at 929-3521. If any senior organization is interested in having Julie speak to your group please contact her directly at 929-3521.

Check your Statements!!! I had a personal experience a few weeks ago where a facility wrongly billed my insurance company for a date of service that we never attended. When I called the facility it was a mistake and I then contacted my insurance company to make sure the mistake was fixed. Unfortunately with Medicare and your insurance you receive statement for services you receive every 90 days. PLEASE make sure you write down or keep track of your appointments to compare your dates with the dates of the services that Medicare is being charged. If there is something wrong you can always contact the facility and ask for a better explanation or contact me and I can assist with those issues. It can happen to anyone so be informed and be aware.

SCAM ALERT! There is a scam going throughout the country for older adults who will be reaching the donut hole for their prescription drug benefits. The new provision that will provide a $250 check to those who reach the donut hole will AUTOMATICALLY arrive beginning sometime after June 15. After the first round of checks are sent, it appears the next series will then occur in 2-3 months increments. There is no application process. Reports indicate that older adults are being called by scam artists who are trying to obtain personal/confidential information by telling them they have to sign up to receive the check.
